Status Feasibility Review

Remove the new status feature on Lists and just change the wording of the existing Publish bar instead

We have the ongoing problem of lecturers using expired lists, instead of the lists rolled over for their course.

As the new green "PUBLISHED: This lists is live, students can see latest changes" status label is appearing on all published lists, regardless of whether their time period is active, upcoming, or expired --- it gives the impression that lecturers can use expired lists.

It is too busy and very confusing to see multiple status colours -- red expired bar/time period, and green published status: 'this list is live' -- on the same list at the same time?? There should be nothing green on expired lists.

Why was a separate status feature added instead of just changing the wording of the existing Publish bar to clarify when students cannot see changes.

Simplify things by just have a floating Publish bar with better wording and a different colour.

Hi Sarah, as far as the publish button goes, we are in the process of changing how this works after some usability testing with a group of academics actively using lists. These changes will be available soon. In terms of the published wording for all lists live or not, we will be taking this to our team for a feasibility review. Thanks, the Product Team
