Often the same resources are bookmarked by many different users, but with the metadata details varying slightly for each.
It can be time-consuming to correct each occurence/variation.
It would be very helpful if duplicate bookmarks could be merged or linked in the system, so updating one updates all of them, even if added by different users.
While this could be potentially problematic for Books/Chapters, it would not cause issues for resource types that don't have parts (are always bookmarked 'in full')
Are there any updates on this? I would very much welcome this idea. It is very annoying when previously bookmarked items resurface after metadata has been changed to the active bookmarks. We also use the reports to identify all occurrences of a certain item when we purchase a newer edition. It would be very useful to only have to change this once.
Lovely idea!! I should think we might have done this already if it was easy enough to do, however I am adding it to our backlog to discuss with tech & UX. If not now that it may be easier in the near future after the product evolves.
